Roads in Poverty Alleviation
Rural roads and bridges rehabilitation and construction
have been considered
as top priority by MRD, among several Integrated
Rural Development activities, to fulfill the needs
of rural people for reducing their poverty. So
far, more than 22,700 km of rural roads have been
rehabilitated and built in the whole country.

Water Supply
Rural water supply, particularly, provision of
clean drinking water for rural people is also
the most important
activity to fulfill their basic needs. So far,
thousands of deep wells have been constructed
by MRD under the grant aid of China, Japan, UNICEF,
LWF and other international agencies. |
