H.E. Chhay Rithisen and his spouse accompany the Prime Minister and the First Lady to attend the Pchum Ben and Ancestors’ Day ceremony at Harirak Serey Jini Pagoda, also known as Wat Veang Chas

[English] Kampong Speu Province: On Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2026, H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, and Lok chumteav joined the Pchum Ben Day ceremony presided over by Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, at Harirak Serey Jini Pagoda (commonly called Wat Veang Chas), located in Khnong Veang village, Veang Chas sangkat, Odongk Mechey city, Kampong Speu province.

Also in attendance at the ceremony at Wat Veang Chas were Samdech and Excellencies, senior leaders of the Royal Government, local authorities, and a large number of citizens.

Please note that Pchum Ben (the Ancestors’ Festival) is among the largest and longest Buddhist observances. It follows the Buddhist lunar calendar and is held annually from the 1st to the 15th waning days of the month of Photrobot. In 2026, Pchum Ben runs from the 1st to the 15th waning days of Photrobot, Year of the Goat, corresponding to September 27 through October 11, 2026.
