Phnom Penh: On Tuesday morning, September 8, 2026, H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development, attended a meeting to discuss the development of green destinations across ecotourism communities located within the geographic areas of Kampong Speu and Koh Kong Provinces, held at the Ministry of Environment’s headquarters.
It should be highlighted that ecotourism communities are attractive green destinations featuring forest landscapes, biodiversity, wildlife, waterfalls, and indigenous cultures. These are high‑potential sites that can be linked into a corridor of green leisure destinations within the Kravanh mountain‑range landscape, which can be organized to expand these potentials, thereby helping to improve grassroots community livelihoods and to foster participation in the sustainable protection and conservation of natural resources, in line with the Environment Sector Strategy 2023–2028 and contributing to the achievement of Phase 1 of the Pentagonal Strategic Plan of the Royal Government, Seventh Legislature of the National Assembly, under the leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
